Commenting Policy

My commenting policy is simple: I will allow just about anything to go, so long as it is on topic.  All comments will be accepted right away, unless it has a link in it (the only thing that hits my spam filter, which I regularly check for legitimate comments); otherwise moderation only occurs after the comment has been posted.  This will be true for all posts.

It is my belief that the truth will prevail over all criticism, all attacks, and any kind of dialogue.  In fact, the truth can only be attained through proper dialogue – no single individual or ideology exclusively holds the truth to everything, so a fusion of ideas made through dialogue is necessary.  Gender equality is for everyone, thus I welcome all perspectives and individuals of all backgrounds, from feminist to anti-feminist, male to female, liberal to conservative, white to black, and so on.  Anybody can comment – I will not bar anybody from commenting simply because I disagree with their opinion.  I actually encourage dissent and criticism.

However, if you have a more technical problem with something I wrote (such as a misattribution error or copyright concern, though it ultimately doesn’t effect the point of my post), you should contact me directly rather than comment.  I will make a note of it in my updates to inform all who may have read the post prior to my editing it, so don’t think I do this to hide my own errors (which I certainly do make).  I simply prefer the comments to be reserved for discussions over the post and the broader topic of the post itself.

My only request is that the comments are both polite and thoughtful.  Obviously that won’t always be the case for a variety of reasons and I’m a pretty tolerant person so I’m not going to be too nitpicky about this, preferring instead to just ignore those comments which don’t abide by both.  But when I smell a troll or somebody who’s simply belligerent and thus a greater disruption to conversation than they are worth, I reserve the right to delete such comments at my discretion.  If you take an issue with my any of my decisions there, you are free to contact me.
